According to the public relations of Pars Oil and Gas Company, following the news of a massive fire in one of the South Pars gas platforms, no fire occurred in platform 16 and the facilities of this platform are in a safe condition.

Yesterday (Friday, December 10, 1400), the gas transmission pipeline of platform 16 leaked on the seabed, and immediately after checking and identifying its location, the platform outlets closed and the leak was completely contained.

Following this incident and due to the lightning strike on the water surface, the gas released on the water surface and at a distance of 15 km from the platform caught fire, which was stopped immediately after the gas production was stopped.

At present, platform 16 of South Pars is out of production circuit and planning is underway to repair and return this platform to production circuit.

Despite the mentioned incident, Pars Oil and Gas Company, while compensating the gas deficit from other platforms, is committed to maintaining production according to the approved plan.
